Christmas Celebrations 2009

Nick and I are so thankful this holiday season for all of our family, friends and the furry ones who make our life so special. We began with early Christmas celebrations with the Zurlage's on December 12th (because we trade off Thanksgiving and Christmas every year). We had a blast: opened gifts, ate a lot of food, and Carmen and Kyla sang Christmas carols to Baby Zurlage. It was the sweetest thing!

The next weekend we headed up to Toledo to bring Great Nonnie, as she is now called (Grama Molly), back down for the Christmas festivities. We had an awesome time with Titi and Carl and giving Nick the tour of the Toledo :) It was a special trip for sure.

Spending the Christmas holiday at Nonnie's (Kim's) this year meant adult sized onesies for all, hours and hours of playing canasta, pigs in a blanket, kielbasa, and a lot of laughs. We had the best time and couldn't believe how fast the time passed. Seeing the rest of the Zurlage side on Christmas day was awesome as well. We enjoyed welcoming Baby Carson White and Baby Brady Kreyling into this world on Christmas eve and Christmas day- yeah for little miracles!!!

Baby Zurlage is now the size of a SWEET POTATO! He/She is moving around quite a bit and I have loved every time I feel anything. Only a couple more weeks until we find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. We are counting down the days until January 12th! We hope everyone had an amazing holiday and are looking forward to 2010.

Second Dr.'s Appointment- Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Our second appointment went really well this morning. It was super quick; we heard the heartbeat again and everything checked out perfectly. In 5 weeks, we will be able to find out if Baby Zurlage is a boy or a girl! We cannot believe it's all happening so quickly. Nick and I thought we would start taking belly pics after so many people are asking for them. Enjoy! This week, Baby Zurlage is the size of a Naval Orange!

November 9th, 2009- Our First Appointment

This picture is of Lucy surprising her "Nonnie" (Grandma Kim) with the big news. The bag had two baby booties inside with a note attached that read, "I'm going to be a big sister!" After Nonnie unwrapped it and realized that we weren't getting another puppy, but we were having a baby, she was shocked and thrilled.
We waited nearly 6 weeks for our first appointment after finding out about Baby Zurlage. Needlesstosay, we were VERY ready for our check-up! The pregnancy was confirmed and everything checked out perfectly. We heard the heartbeat for the first time- which was the most reassuring, facsinating, and heartwarming sound. It sounded like a quick pitter-pattery, flutter! We found out at this appointment that I was 11 weeks and 3 days- due date May 30th, 2010; which was further along than I thought...another reassuring moment. Our next appointment is on December 8th and can't come soon enough! We are ready to hear that little heart again and hopefully getting closer to seeing this little one during an ultrasound.

September 30th, 2009- Pregnancy Test goes "+" !!!

Nick and I first found out we were going to be parents on September 30th, 2009. It was a Wednesday night...I had been home from work sick the day before because of a wicked sinus infection. I had been feeling horrible because of that and a little woozie. Lindsey (White) suggested that I take a pregnancy test, as a joke, I think. I thought it might be a good idea but never suspected that I was pregnant. So, on Wednesday, when I got home from work and not thinking anything of it, I took a test and it was immediately POSITIVE! That little "+" sign was the best thing I had ever seen. Nick was at softball so I called him with the good news. We celebrated and let it all sink in...and then took a few more tests! The next day, I was off to a work conference- trying but failing not to tell Reba about our good news ;)
